of up to 6 Australian Government Research Training Program Scholarships are

applicants should be aware that the selection process will be rigorous and
demanding.
The Australian Government
Research Training Program Scholarship is awarded to applicants who demonstrate
outstanding ability for independent research. The selection process normally assesses
candidates based on academic merit, academic research training, and various
research performance metrics.
For the year 2024, successful
applicants will have to demonstrate exceptional research abilities and receive
the maximum number of points for their publications. This achievement must demonstrate
that candidate submitted at least 5 high-quality publications, which demonstrate
their research skills and contributions in their respective disciplines.
The scholarship will last
for up to three years for applicants pursuing a Research Doctorate degree and
up to two years for applicants pursuing a Research Master’s degree. Successful candidates

The Eligibility Criteria for the Australian Government Research Training Program Scholarship
To qualify for
consideration for the award of an Australian Government Research Training
Program Scholarship, the following eligibility must be met.
· You should be a citizen of any overseas country except New Zealand, and not hold Australian citizenship, Australian permanent resident status, or New Zealand citizenship. This will ensure that the scholarship supports international students from a diverse range of countries.
· An
applicant is willing to commence full-time study for a higher degree by
research in Australia for the first time in the year for which the award is
offered. Students who commenced their higher degree by research in the previous
year but were unable to apply for an Australian Government Research Training
Program Scholarship due to the timing of their application for admission and
subsequent enrolment, or who commenced a higher degree by research and
terminated that enrolment within six months of commencement, may also be considered.
· Should be aiming to enroll in an area of research concentration. These are usually areas where the University has specifically strengthened, and has concentrated its research resources, and attracted external funding.
· Meet
all the entry requirements for a higher degree by research, including the
English proficiency in accordance with the English Language Proficiency
Requirements for Higher Degree by Research applicants. The requirement ensures
that applicants have the necessary language skills to succeed in their research
studies.
The Scholarships will not
be awarded to an applicant who:
· Is receiving income from another source to support their general living costs while undertaking their course of study if that income is greater than 75 percent of the student’s RTP Stipend rate. Income unrelated to the student’s course of study or income received for the student’s course of study but not for the purpose of supporting general living costs is not taken into account.
· Has previously received an Australian Government Research Training Program Scholarship for a Research Doctorate degree, or for a Research Master’s degree unless the Research Master’s degree was completed and the student is now undertaking a Research Doctorate degree.
· Holds a qualification deemed equivalent to an Australian Research Doctorate degree or, if undertaking a Research Master’s degree, holds a qualification deemed equivalent to or higher than an Australian Research Master’s degree. This ensures that the scholarship is awarded to students who are at the appropriate academic level for the intended research degree.
· Has held an Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID/Australia Award) scholarship within the two years prior to commencing the Australian Government Research Training Program Scholarships.
· Is on paid study leave.
· Holds a fractional academic appointment greater than 0.2 FTE.

application for admission to a Higher Degree by Research PhD or Master of Arts
by Research. After that then you can proceed to apply for the International RHD
Scholarship.

Kindly make sure that all
necessary fields are accurately filled out and that you have uploaded any
required documents. Within one hour after submitting your registration, a
Flinders student Identification Number will be generated. It is important to
take note of this number as it will be required for future processes.
